What motivates you to work out and live a healthy lifestyle?
What motivates me to work out and live a healthy lifestyle is knowing who out there I am motivating and inspiring. I believe that even if its one person that I can help to make a healthy lifestyle change then I'm making an impact in the world.
What does your workout routine look like?
On a good week, I'll workout specific muscle groups. 1 day will be Back/Bis, another Chest/Tris/Shoulders, and then Legs. Abs and Cardio gets incorporated after a workout or I'll dedicate one day out the week to it. I try to workout 4 times a week when life doesn't get to me first lol.
What do you eat in a typical day to stay in shape?
Breakfast: 4 slices turkey bacon, 2 eggs with spinach, and black coffee/water.
Snack: almonds or greek yogurt
Lunch: Grilled chicken, rice, some type of greens (usually broccoli or green beans)
Snack: Fruit (apples, grapes, pineapples, etc)
Dinner: Chicken spinach wrap (if not a protein shake. Usually my nights I don’t have much of an appetite)
Keep in mind this is when I was pretty consistent with getting toned and joining challenges. As of today, it's been all about balancing and not giving up foods that I crave! I'll get back to this though.
How do you maintain your hair while working out?
I straighten my hair for the most part, because I work in an office and don’t have much time to maintain and manage my natural curls. If I workout I'll put my hair in a bun or ponytail. Dry shampoo has been helpful as well!
What’s in your gym bag?
Wet wipes, extra pair of clothes, towel, and water!
What might we catch you doing outside the gym?
Drawing, watching movies, sleeping! I'm such a homebody I love to stay in, drink some coffee and catch up on some shows <3
Give your best 3 health tips that people can implement right now.
DRINK WATER. Crazy to say this but I've met a lot of people who don't drink enough water. Drinking water can help with weight loss, boost your metabolism, burn calories, and much more.
Avoid diets. Having restrictions makes you binge eat on cheat days. Focus on moderations.
Get a good amount of sleep. Lack of a good night's rest messes with your appetite, performance, hormones, etc. Its recommended for adults to sleep an average of 7-8 hours at night.
