Our Dope Fit Chick of the week is Fitness Influencer Chyna Hokett! Read our interview with her and find out what motivates her to work out and what her workout routine looks like.

What motivates you to work out and live a healthy lifestyle?

I started working out due to a bad relationship I was in, in 2017. I started working out & it changed my life. The gym is a safe space for me. It allowed me to heal, grow & channel my energy a different way. I found purpose. God has allowed me to inspire & motivate other young women through my personal journey. & that’s beautiful. I keep going to keep other people going.

What does your workout routine look like?

My workout routine.. I barely have direction lol. A typical day, I’m always going to do legs. I always incorporate resistance bands & end every workout with abs. I do whatever flows honestly. I also love HIIT workouts.

What do you eat in a typical day to stay in shape?

Full transparency, I don’t eat healthy. Lol. That’s bad I know.. However I do drink protein shakes & eat a good amount of seafood.

How do you maintain your hair while working out?

Whew, it’s hard being a girl & being a gym rat.. Most of the time I’ll have braids to maintain my hair bc of course you sweat a lot.

What's in your gym bag?

Resistance bands. An extra hoodie & tshirt. A tri-pod. A jump rope. A towel & water.

What might we catch you doing outside the gym?

Smoking hookah lol.. I love hookah child. I’m really chill though, so anytime I can relax I take that opportunity lol.

What are your best 3 health tips people can implement right now?

Pray & meditate constantly. Take your vitamins. Focus on yourself, you’ll never lose when you focus on yourself!
